White County Fire Services extinguished a Thursday morning structure fire in Cleveland.
White County Public Information Officer Bryce Barrett said fire crews responded to the 500 block of Eagle Rock Road just after 2 a.m. to reports of a shed and watershed fire.
Crews found the fire had spread to nearby vegetation and vehicles
“Firefighters quickly confirmed that no individuals were inside the involved structures, crews then focused efforts on containing the fire and protecting nearby exposures,” Barrett said.
Fire crews remained on the scene throughout the morning to put out hotspots, to ensure the fire would not reignite.
White County’s Emergency Management dispatched a drone to provide aerial overwatch with thermal imaging capabilities to monitor for vegetation fire and support containment efforts.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Georgia State Fire Marshal’s Office.
White County Fire Services, White County EMS, the Cleveland Fire Department, Lee Arrendale Correctional Institute Fire Services and White County Emergency Management’s Community Emergency Response Team assisted in extinguishing the blaze.
