The Forsyth County Fire Department will collect  toy donations for its Aerial’s House initiative now through Dec. 7.

The department is asking for residents to drop off items such as new, unwrapped toys, gift cards for retailers or new or gently used coats for children in need between the ages of newborn to 18. All donations can be dropped off at any Forsyth County fire station, the Fire Department Headquarters  at 3520 Settingdown Road or any of the Forsyth County Public Libraries.

In December, donations for Aerial’s House may also be dropped off inside the lobby of the Forsyth County Administration Building  located at 110 E. Main St. underneath the lobby Christmas tree, according to a release from the department.

“The Fire Department cherishes the opportunity to connect with the community every year and provide joy to those who need it this time of year,” Forsyth County Fire Chief Barry Head said. “We are astounded by the generosity of area residents and businesses that allows us to provide something for Christmas morning to thousands of local children. We appreciate the continued support for this special program.”

The collection initiative gets its name from the aerial ladder truck, which is used by the Fire Department. 2024 marks the 22nd year the department has taken collections.

To receive information regarding the distribution of toys collected through Aerial’s House, call The Place of Forsyth County at (770) 887-1098. For other questions such as making a large donation or drop offs, call Firefighter Jeff Lyons at (678) 513-5899.
