Calhoun woman arrested in Towns County on felony drug possession charges

A Calhoun woman was arrested in Towns County on drug possession charges following a month-long investigation by the Towns County Sheriff’s Office. 

The department’s Drug Investigator reportedly received a tip regarding a person of interest allegedly transporting illegal and controlled substances into the county. TCSO performed surveillance on Mary Ann Walker ,60, then performed a traffic stop on her Monday evening. 

During the traffic stop, probable cause was developed and authorities searched the vehicle, according to a Facebook post from the department. The search allegedly resulted in the discovery of a substance which field tested positive for Methamphetamine and Marijuana. Both amounts were packaged for sale, according to the post. Investigators also uncovered Xanax pills, drug paraphernalia and an amount of cash in the vehicle. 

Walker was arrested and charged with: 

• Felony Possession of Methamphetamine

• Felony, Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to

Distribute

• Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance

• Possession of Marijuana

• Possession and Use of Drug Related Objects

 
Mary Ann Walker ,60, of Calhoun, was arrested on Monday, Oct. 21 on several charges, including Felony Possession of Methamphetamine and Felony, Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute.
