Governor Brian Kemp's temporary supsension for Georgia's fuel tax ended last week, and the price for gasoline at the pumps has shown the return through the rising prices at the pumps.
AAA of Georgia's web site for statewide average prices (as of Monday) shows that the price for regular unleaded gasoline is at $2.93 per gallon. That average is 23 cents above last week's rate, but one penny lower than the rate from one month ago, and nearly nine cents lower than at the same time last year.
Nationwide, the average price for unleaded regular gasoline actually dropped three cents per gallon, to $3.17.
Hall County commuters are seeing an average price just over $2.85 per gallon, with the lowest average throughout northeast Georgia found in Gwinnett county, at $2.83, with the highest average found in Rabun County at $2.97 per gallon.
