The North Georgia Community Foundation (NGCF) recently announced that they have given out their largest disbursement of scholarships in foundation history.
In total, 306 scholarship awards that totaled approximately $743,649 were awarded to students across North Georgia who entered college or technical school this Fall.
NGCF’s team recently celebrated this milestone, alongside fundholders and volunteer scholarship reviewers.
"We are immensely grateful for all of their passion and dedication that have been instrumental in reaching this remarkable milestone," said Michelle Prater, President & CEO of NGCF. "This commitment to the community and belief in the power of education is what fuels our mission and enables us to support an increasing number of students each year."
Connie and Sammy Tucker, who established the Jody Tucker Memorial Scholarship in 2000 in loving memory of their son, expressed their appreciation for NGCF's stewardship: "Over the years, we've witnessed the Foundation's incredible dedication to administering scholarships. We are so impressed by their commitment and are proud to support students as they pursue their educational dreams. It's more than a scholarship; it's a way to honor Jody's legacy and invest in the potential of our youth."
The next NCGF scholarship cycle will open on January 15, 2025.
