The Habersham County Coroner’s Office and Habersham County Sheriff’s Office are investigating after a body was found near Alto Wednesday afternoon.
Coroner Kasey McEntire said the deceased individual was found by a family member just after 3 p.m. on October 16 at a home along the Mt. Zion Connector.
A release from the Habersham County Communications department quoted McEntire noting that, “while foul play is not suspected at this time, the body has been sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation State Crime Lab in Decatur for evaluation.”
McEntire adds, “No further details will be released at this time pending the outcome of that exam and notification of family members.”
