A  Forsyth County couple is facing numerous charges for allegedly stealing over $100-thousand from the female suspect's elderly aunt.

Forsyth County Sheriff's Office's (FCSO) social media page has limited details behind the recent arrests of Margo and Matthew Clark, but indicated that their department received notice from the Georgia Department of Human Services Adult Protective Service in August of 2024 that  funds were allegedly  missing from an 89-year-old victim’s bank account. FCSO's Financial Crimes Unit Detectives began looking into the missing funds to later discover that hundreds of thousands of dollars were missing from the victim's account.

FCSO investigators say in reports that the victim's niece (Margo Clark) and her husband (Matthew Clark) had power of attorney for the victim at that time, and were allegedly spending money on almost everything except the care of the victim.

Margo and Matthew Clark are both facing charges of exploitation of the elderly, money laundering, identity fraud, and seven counts of theft by taking.  Both suspects were recently booked into the Forsyth County Jail.
