Hall County Animal Services rescued 23 dogs on Thursday from a home in Gainesville.
Hall County officials said animal services first visited the home in the 4000 block of Thompson Bridge Road on Sept. 23 for a welfare check.
The homeowner reportedly refused to allow animal services entry to the property.
Hall County Animal Control and Hall County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the home on Oct. 10.
During the search, authorities found the dogs in unsanitary conditions and without water.
The case remains under investigation by animal control.
Those interested in adopting or fostering can visit the shelter during regular business hours, Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., or visit the Animal Shelter online to browse adoptable pets.
