Authorities say a medical episode likely led to a single-car crash that left a man dead in Hart County Thursday afternoon.
A report issued Saturday by the Georgia State Patrol said deputies were called to the wreck at around 1:15 p.m. Thursday on Ga. 181 near U.S. 29 about five miles east of Hartwell.
The report said a white Ford Taurus was going west on Ga. 181 when it left the right side of the roadway, hit a culvert and went airborne. It then overturned several times with the driver being ejected.
That driver, identified as Donald Phillip Hall, age 63 of Hartwell, was taken to Anderson Medical Center in nearby South Carolina where he later died.
No other injuries were reported in the crash.
