Gwinnett Authorities seek information in fatal hit-and-run

The Gwinnett County Police Department is asking the public for information in a hit-and-run collision that killed a pedestrian.

 Mecha Woodard, 24, of Sandy Springs was walking  between State Route 316 and the entrance ramp from Boggs Rd. at 4 a.m. on Sept. 27 when she was struck by an unknown vehicle. 

Investigators were able to collect vehicle parts from the scene that indicated the suspect vehicle is likely a 2019-2022 Lexus RX350 or Lexus RX 450. The vehicle also suffered damage to  the front passenger-side bumper and headlight, according to a release from the department.
