The Oakwood Police Department recently arrested a man for impersonating a FEMA agent at the scene of a traffic accident.

Oakwood Police Sgt. Stewart Webb said officers responded on Dec. 21, 2023, to a car accident near 3637 Mundy Mill Road at Mundy Mill Drive.

When officers arrived they observed Sean Michael Lehner standing at the scene.

“Mr. Lehner identified himself as a federal officer and that he outranked them,” Webb said. “Mr. Lehner approached officers in an aggressive manner and hindered their investigation.”

Officers later discovered one of the drivers involved in the accident was Lehner’s daughter.

Webb said Lehner was driving a white Ford F350 with red lights visible and a FEMA decal on the vehicle. Lehner then allegedly identified himself as a FEMAS agent.

In a prior incident, authorities received reports on Oct. 23, 2023, of a White Ford F350 running code with red and white flashing lights on McEver Road near Mundy Mill Road Webb said. The vehicle was not located after that incident.

The Criminal Investigations Division received confirmation from FEMA and DHS that Lehner was not affiliated with their agencies.

Authorities obtained search warrants for the suspect's home and car.

“We obtained one arrest warrant for impersonating a Public Officer,” Webb said.

FEMA and DHS are investigating the case.
