Gwinnett County police officers last week arrested a Buford man believed to be involved in illegal street racing activities dating back to early 2023.

Gwinnett authorities who were assigned to the North Precinct Community Response Team reportedly apprehended Matthew Dylan Mccullock, 19, of Buford, on Jan. 11, according to police reports.

Mccullock was charged with organizing illegal street racing or reckless driving exhibition as well as being participant or spectator of an illegal street racing or reckless driving exhibition.

Gwinnett County’s real-time Situational Awareness and Crime Response Center, paired with the work of officers, resulted in the identification of Mccullock.

Mccullock is believed to have been involved with at least two events dating back to March 11, 2023. At that time he was allegedly involved in a meetup near the intersection of Old Norcross Road and Breckinridge Blvd. in unincorporated Duluth.

Mccullock is also suspected of organizing an event on Dec. 23, 2023, where hundreds of vehicles gathered and started illegally street racing in the parking lot of 4125 Buford Drive.

Matthew Dylan Mccullock, 19, of Buford, was taken into custody on Jan. 11.
