Due to a winter weather advisory, multiple area schools and local government offices will be closed, delay openings or hold virtual learning days on Tuesday, January 16th, 2024.
The following schools will be closed:
- White County School System
- Lumpkin County School System
The following schools will hold a virtual learning day:
- Dawson County School System
- Forsyth County School System
- Gilmer County School System
- Union County School System
- Towns County School System
The following college campuses will be closed for classes, while essential personnel should work with supervisors regarding reporting to campus:
- University of North Georgia
- North Georgia Technical College (BLAIRSVILLE CAMPUS ONLY) *Clarkesville and Currahee campuses are OPEN and running on a normal schedule.
The following municipal or county government systems are altering hours of operation:
- Union County Government, Courthouse and related administrative offices are operating on a TWO-HOUR DELAY; government offices will open at 10:00 a.m. Today (Tuesday)
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for portions of Northeast Georgia for Tuesday, through Wednesday morning, Jaunary 17, 2024.
