A Buford man was sentenced in December for his involvement in a fatal May 2021 wreck on Blackjack Road in Hall County.
According to Hall County Court documents, Aaron Bartholomew Jones, 45, of Hall County, was sentenced on Dec. 18, 2023, to 15 years with the first 30 months behind bars. Jones pleaded guilty to a homicide by vehicle charge in the May 21, 2021 wreck on Blackjack Road near Swansey Road. The Georgia State Patrol previously told AccessWDUN that the wreck led to the death of Edwin Landrau, 36, of Flowery Branch.
Jones was reportedly driving a Land Rover eastbound on the roadway when he left the roadway, hit a utility pole and then a tree. Landrau was a passenger in the vehicle.
The sentencing document said Jones' license would be suspended as a matter of law. He will also undergo random drug screens as deemed necessary.
