The Hall County Family Connections Network has three upcoming initiatives aimed at fostering educational support and community resilience.
A release from the agency's director Kyndra Cohen says the first one is their Saturday MILE Program (Math, Increasing Confidence, Literacy Enrichment), and will be followed laster this winter by the Family Connections Community Resource Fair, and the Resiliency Conference. Each will provide valuable resources for families in Hall County.
The Saturday MILE Program is designed to enhance learning and academic success and offer tutorial assistance in literacy and math for students in grades K-8. This program will take place at the Butler Center on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays from January 13, 2024, through April 13, 2024, with two sessions available: Session 1 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and Session 2 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
Pre-registration is required for the Saturday Mile Program, and the events are free and open to all members of the community. Participants can expect a day filled with learning, networking, and support from experienced educators and professionals.
Region 2 Family Connections will also host a Community Resource Fair on February 2, at the Lanier Tech Ramsey Center. The fair will be open from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and invites the community to explore the various resources available to Hall County residents.
Later this winter, the Resiliency Conference is scheduled for Saturday, March 23, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm and will provide valuable classes such as Triple P, Community Resilience Model, Reaching Teens, and other resources designed to build personal resilience and overcome everyday life challenges. Area residents are invited to participate in the teen lounge, enjoy food truck goodies, and possibly win prizes.
