The Georgia State Capitol was closed briefly Wednesday morning following a bomb threat hoax.
The Georgia State Patrol said a hoax email was sent to an employee containing a bomb threat at the capitol.
"A search was conducted, and an all-clear was given," the Georgia State Patrol said in a statement. "The Capitol has been reopened."
"Starting 2024 with a bomb threat at the Georgia State Capitol," Georgia Secretary of State COO Gabriel Sterling wrote on X.
