With temperatures expected to dip, officials in Gwinnett County are preparing to re-open the county's warming stations for three days starting Monday night.
Officials with the Gwinnett County Police Department announced the move in a social media post Monday morning. The post said the move is in response to temperatures that are expected to be below 35 degrees.
There are five warming stations in the county, and they will be open from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. each night. Their locations are listed below:
- Buford Senior Center - 2755 Sawnee Avenue, Buford
- Shorty Howell Park Activity Building - 2750 Pleasant Hill Road, Duluth
- Lawrenceville Senior Center - 225 Benson Street, Lawrenceville
- Best Friend Park Gym - 6224 Jimmy Carter Boulevard, Norcross
- Centerville Senior Center - 3025 Bethany Church Road, Snellville
Anyone in need of warmth, rest or a meal during the cold overnight hours, or who knows someone who is, can find more information about the stations on the county's website.
The last night the stations are set to be open is Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
