Police release name of woman killed at Gwinnett County house party

Gwinnett County Police released on Tuesday morning the name of a woman who was shot and killed early Friday at a house party.

The agency said the woman was identified as Shania Green, 18, of Lawrenceville.

Green was reportedly shot and killed at about 1:00 a.m. Friday at a home on Chance Lane in Grayson.

A GoFundMe page created by a family member of Green's said she was a mother of a seven-month-old child. 

"On December 29th, 2023 as any new mother, Shania was excited to finally get to go out and hang out for a little," the GoFundMe page said. "While enjoying a night out at a house party, multiple shots were fired from outside of the house hitting Shania from inside of the house and taking her life."

Gwinnett County Police are investigating an incident in Grayson that resulted in the death of one woman early Friday.

Shortly after 1:00 a.m., officers responded to a house on Chance Lane in Grayson, in reference to a person shot.

 

When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered an apparent house party. Officers cleared the home and discovered one deceased woman.  The name of the victim has not been released.

 

Homicide detectives are continuing to investigate the cause of death.  No word, at this time, on any suspects or arrests from the case.
