The Gwinnett County Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating a suspect from a Tuesday night armed robbery in Buford.

Gwinnett County authorities said the suspect, Khalil Hamilton, 26, used Airbnb to rent a basement at a home on Seed Way in Buford.

Hamilton texted the victim, who lives at the home, that he needed assistance with a bathroom repair at 11:00 p.m.

“While the victim was assessing the maintenance complaint by Khalil, he brandished a black handgun and demanded the victim lie on the floor. Hamilton zip-tied the victim and stole the victim's wallet and watch before fleeing the residence,” officials said in a release.

Hamilton was last seen driving an older model Honda passenger car with Texas tag SSF5628.

Gwinnett County authorities said Hamilton has ties to Texas and Philadelphia and he is considered armed and dangerous.

Hamilton has active warrants for armed robbery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
