MT. AIRY, Ga. – Habersham Central scored the only two touchdowns in the second half to pull away from Forsyth Central, 28-10.
The Raiders were first to score as Antonio Cantrell punched it in from a yard out with 3:36 to play in the first. The scoreboard got its work in the second quarter as FC answered in the opening seconds of the period to tie the game up.
Just one minute later, Zeke Whittington caught a 29-yard pass from Carson Parker to retake the lead for the Raiders. After a later field goal by Forsyth Central got the score to 14-10 by halftime, Cantrell scored late in the third and Hayes Gunn late in the fourth to get to the final score.
Cantrell rushed for 141 yards on 25 carries to lead all rushers, while Parker completed four passes to Whittington for 44 yards total. Jarred White led all defensive players with 13 tackles.
The Raiders will be at Lanier next week to open 8-6A play.
