Georgia's gas price average continues to decline at the pump compared to a week ago. Georgia drivers are now paying an average price of $3.57 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline.
It's the third consecutive week that prices have lowered at the pump, according to AAA of Georgia's report on Monday.
Monday's state average is 4 cents less than a week ago, but 5 cents more than a month ago, and 18 cents more than this time last year.
Hall County commuters are paying an average of $3.54 per gallon, while the lowest average price for unleaded regular gas in Northeast Georgia is in Hart County at $3.45, as of Monday.
The national average is currently at about $3.81 a gallon.
“Pump prices appear to be dropping across the country,” according to Montrae Waiters, AAA spokeswoman. “Largely due to declining crude oil prices, however, concerns regarding potential storm activity could redirect falling pump prices heading into Labor Day weekend. Georgians can anticipate pump prices to ebb and flow in September.”
