FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Cherokee Bluff moved into a second place tie with East Forsyth after holding off the Lady Broncos 3-1 in a key Region 8-4A showdown on Tuesday.
Catalina Baronci scattered six hits and fanned six in picking up the complete-game win for Bluff (6-4-1, 4-1 Region 8-4A).
Baronci also helped her cause, knocking in the eventual game-winner with an RBI single in the fifth. Kate Herren followed with a sacrifice fly to extend the lead 3-1.
Cadence Alberty took the loss giving up three runs on eight in six innings. She struck out two and walked two.
Avrie Nowalk tied the game at 1 in the fourth for the Lady Broncos (5-3, 4-1 Region 8-4A) with an RBI single.
Baronci finished with three hits. Mac Warren and Emma Sundermeyer each had two hits for Cherokee Bluff.
NORTH HALL 15,
EAST HALL 5 (5 inn)
North Hall remained in a tie for fourth place in Region 8-4A after a in five innings over East Hall on Tuesday.
The Lady Trojans (8-3, 3-2 Region 8-4A) blew open a tight 1-1 game with five runs in each of the second and third innings for an 11-1 lead. The Lady Vikings (4-5, 1-4 Region 8-4A) kept it alive with two runs in the third but North Hall extended the lead to 15-5 after the fourth.
North Hall invoked the mercy rule, scoring one in the fifth and holding off East Hall in the bottom of the inning.
Genesis Satterfield, Mac Taylor, and Bre Stowers each had two hits and combined for five RBI to pace the offense. Marly Weaver had four hits and one RBI while Ashley Callahan drove in a pair of runs for North Hall.
Taylor went two innings allowing one run on one hit and striking out two for North Hall. Emily Hlavacek went the final three innings giving up four runs on four hits.
Amari Burce took the loss for East Hall going all five innings, allowing 15 runs (just seven earned) on 12 hits and striking out one.
Aydan Gerrin and Elvie Armour each knocked in one run. Burce, Kyleigh Kytle, Gerrin, Makena Medlin, and Kaylana Curry all had one hit for East Hall.

The Lady Dragons rallied from an 8-3 deficit to knock off the Lady Red Devils at home in Region 8-5A action.
The win kept Jefferson (5-1, 4-0 Region 8-5A) as the lone unbeaten team in the region and in first place.
Jefferson scored twice in the third and once in the fourth to cut the lead to 8-6. They grabbed the lead with three in sixth and held on.
Alivia Gober got the win in relief for Jefferson, scattering six hits and striking out three and allowing no runs over the final four innings.
Madison Hanchey had three hits and two RBI and Ally Baldwin added two hits and two RBI to pace the Lady Dragons offense.
DAWSON COUNTY 1,
GILMER 0
Ace Cochran doubled in Lily Hamilton in the first inning and the Lady Tigers made it stand up for a big Region 7-3A victory on the road.
Actually, Layne Bailey made it stand up as she tossed a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts in the circle to get the win.
Lily Fortune took the hard-luck loss for Gilmer. Fortune scattered eight hits and fanned four but it wasn’t enough.
Bailey and Cochran each had three hits for the Lady Tigers.
Dawson County (4-5, 2-1 Region 7-3A) moved within one-half game first place with the win.
