A lightning strike during Monday evening's storms is suspected of causing a fire that destroyed an outbuilding outside Cornelia.
According to a press release from Habersham County Emergency Services, crews were dispatched at about 5:30 p.m. to the fire on Hosanna Lane.
Lightning reportedly struck a tree beside the outbuilding, sparking the fire that destroyed the 20- by 24-foot structure and its contents.
Units from the Baldwin Fire Department and Cornelia Fire Department also responded, along with the Habersham County Sheriff's Office.
