Authorities have released the name of the individual who died in a wreck that shut down U.S. 441 in Rabun County Monday morning.
Georgia State Patrol Post 7 said Francis Hanrahan, 58, of Rabun Gap crossed the centerline into oncoming traffic and struck a tractor-trailer on its left side.
Hanrahan died of his injuries and both vehicles were disabled from the damage. The driver of the tractor-trailer received minor injuries.

Authorities say at least one person was killed in a crash that shut down U.S. 441 in Rabun County Monday morning.
A social media post by the Rabun County Sheriff's Office said the wreck happened around 10:00 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 441 and Old 441 North just north of Clayton. Details of the crash have not been released, but the post described it as a fatal accident.
U.S. 441 was shut down for just over three hours while crews worked the scene. It was re-opened shortly after 1:30 p.m.
