White County Fire Services and Cleveland Fire Department extinguished a structure fire on Thursday near Paradise Valley Road in Cleveland.

According to a press release from White County Public Information Officer Bryce Barrett, the structure was fully involved when crews arrived but was vacant at the time.

Fire personnel contained the fire but due to the structure's proximity to a wooded area Georgia Forestry was called to the scene to stop it spreading to the woods.

White County Emergency Management’s Community Emergency Response Team responded with rehab units to aid firefighters.

Fire authorities remained on the scene throughout the day to assure the fire was out.

Georgia State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the fire and a cause has not been released at this time.
