An elderly couple died in a Thursday afternoon accident on Flowery Branch Road in Forsyth County.
The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office said in a press release Friday morning the crash happened at about 1:30 p.m. near Shadow Lane.
First responders found the couple in the car. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was identified as Alice Jackson, 91, while the passenger was her husband, Jimmy Jackson, 91.
Investigators said Alice was driving a Cadillac XT4 west on Flowery Branch Road when the car began to drift off the roadway at Shadow Lane, at which point she overcorrected.
The vehicle left the roadway, overturned, and came to a rest at the top of an embankment.
The cause of the wreck remained under investigation as of Friday morning.
