The Franklin County Health Department will be closed starting on August 15 for an extensive renovation project.

To reduce disruptions from the closures the health department is scheduled to reopen on August 21 at the Franklin County Board of Education, Historical Society Wing (280 Busha Road, Carnesville, GA 30521).

According to a press release, renovations are expected to last until mid-October and citizens will be provided with regular updates.

FCHD will implement several measures to minimize disruptions including relocating some health services such as:

Health department teams will work to ensure that programs will be uninterrupted. Women’s Health, Family Planning, Prenatal Case Management, Child Health, Immunizations, General Clinic, STD, and TB services will be accessible during the renovation period. Appointments are required during the renovation by calling 706-384-5575.

Additionally, the health system will be collaborating with local health providers, community organizations and government agencies during the renovation period.

To avoid delay in your care the health department recommends you schedule an appointment prior to the August 14-18 closure.

For updates on the renovations visit the FCHD website and regularly check their Facebook page, Instagram and Twitter.
