Residents of Forsyth County are being asked to conserve water through noon Saturday after the county's water facility lost power for an extended period of time in the wake of Thursday's severe thunderstorm.

Forsyth County Government officials said Georgia Power restored power to the water plant before 2 p.m. Friday.

Officials have asked Forsyth County residents to continue conserving water until noon Saturday as they work to replenish water resources.

Amanda Roper, assistant director of Forsyth County's Department of Communications, said the City of Cumming and Fulton County helped maintain the water supply in Forsyth County during the outage.
