The Hall County School District announced Tuesday that the school system saw high pass rates from its students for the 2023 AP and IB exams.
According to a press release from the district, the number of students taking AP exams in 2023 is the highest number the district has seen in the past five years. The number of exams taken continued to grow from last year in the district, with 2126 AP exams taken by HCSD students. In total the district saw a 55% pass rate for AP exams.
“It is exciting to witness more of our students stepping up to meet the challenge and rigor associated with the advanced placement curriculum,” Deputy Superintendent for Teaching and Learning, Kevin Bales, said. “These scores are a testament to the hard work and commitment of both students and teachers.”
Johnson High School, North Hall High School, and West Hall High School International Baccalaureate Programmes had seniors who took 336 IB exams; the overall pass rate for IB exams was 73%. IB students district wide compiled a 95%+ pass rate in IB English, Spanish, Mandarin, and Fine Arts.
Additionally, 74% of Hall County Students participating in the IB program earned an IB diploma by fulfilling all requirements , including the IB Bilingual Diploma and the IB Career Diploma, for a total of 29 HCSD students earning the honor.
