Commuters in Jackson County need to avoid a local street for the remainder of the work week.
County officials have Maddox Road in Hoschton temporarily closed until Friday, July 14, for needed road work maintenance.
The Jackson County Government's Facebook page shows that Maddox Road near the 1600 block is closed for creek culvert placement and that drivers need to use area alternate routes.
This section of Maddox Road has been blocked since Tuesday, July 11.
