Five people, including three from Northeast Georgia, have been charged after a months-long investigation into what authorities called a fentanyl distribution organization in Banks and Jackson counties.

A release from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Friday said four of the suspects were arrested on Thursday, June 29. The first arrest was of William "Faye" Lomack, age 48 of Maysville, who was taken into custody after a traffic stop in Commerce.

Lomack was allegedly found during the stop with 450 grams of suspected fentanyl, two firearms and what authorities called a large amount of cash. After his arrest, authorities conducted searches at a motel in Commerce and a home in Maysville that were both connected to Lomack.

GBI officials said authorities found more fentanyl, methamphetamine and firearms during those searches, which led to the arrests of the other four suspects. The four suspects arrested and their charges are listed below:

According to Friday's release, Stephanie "Sticks" Guthrie, age 38 of Winder, was also found during the search of the Commerce motel and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. She is facing charges of Trafficking Fentanyl and Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl.

Sheriff's offices in Banks, Jackson and Stephens counties all assisted the GBI in the investigation, along with the Georgia State Patrol, the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Gainesville office.
