A woman from Toccoa was killed in a single-vehicle accident Friday morning in Banks County.

According to a press release from the Georgia State Patrol, authorities responded just after midnight to the scene of the accident on Highway 63 near Bennett Road.

The victim, a 43-year-old woman from Toccoa, was found dead on a nearby driveway when authorities arrived.

The agency said the woman was allegedly driving east on Highway 63 in a Jeep Gladiator when the vehicle drove off the right shoulder of the roadway. It then hit a driveway culvert, causing the vehicle to go airborne and overturn.

The woman was ejected from the top hatch of the vehicle during the incident.
