A Hall County Commissioner has been appointed to co-chair a statewide committee on mental health care and prevention.

District 1 County Commissioner Kathy Cooper has been appointed to the Association County Commissioners of Georgia's (ACCG) Standing Committee on Mental Health and Substance Abuse.

She will be co-chair to the Committee's Courts subcommittee.

The Mental Health and Substance Abuse Committee is tasked with working together to create, share and provide access to information on best practices for serving citizens with mental illnesses and substance abuse disorders

Cooper said in a Hall County release that she looks forward to working with fellow committee members to further these critically important efforts.
