The Hall County Sheriff's Office arrested a Hartwell man Monday after he allegedly committed a sexual crime against a minor under the age of 16.
Donavan Lamont Wynn, 18, of Hartwell was arrested on charges of statutory rape and trespassing, according to Hall County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer B.J. Williams.
Deputies responded at about 10:30 p.m. to a report of trespassing at a home in the 3400 block of Cleveland Highway.
The owner of the home told deputies he found Wynn in a bedroom in the home. Wynn then fled from the home after he was discovered. Williams said deputies found Wynn hiding behind the home.
The daughter of the homeowner, who is under the age of 16, told deputies Wynn was staying at the home. The homeowners told authorities Wynn did not have permission to be at the home and at that point, a criminal investigations team was called to the scene.
Wynn was booked into the Hall County Jail and he remained there as of early Tuesday afternoon.
