Gainesville woman accused of immigration schemes for fraud and extortion

A Gainesville woman has been arrested for alleged fraud, theft and extortion.
 
The Gainesville Police Department said on Facebook Olga “Betty” Beatrice Villarreal, 51, of Gainesville was charged with deceiving people during an immigration scheme.
 
Villarreal allegedly deceived people out of thousands of dollars by claiming to process their immigration status in an expedited manner.
 
She would use threatening means to further extort money out of the victims, according to police.
 
Villarreal has been charged with three counts of felony theft by deception and felony criminal attempt.
 
As of Monday, June 26th, she was held at the Hall County Jail.
