Hall County investigators have a Gainesville man in custody, as he faces charges of felony murder and aggravated assault with a firearm in connection to a deadly shooting that occurred in the northwestern part of Hall County late Monday night.

A release from the Hall County Sheriff’s Office said Robert Adam Maggio, 48, allegedly shot and killed Shane Gilleland, 51, just after 11 p.m. on June 5 at Maggio’s home on Belvedere Drive.

Gilleland and his girlfriend had been living with Maggio at his residence for a short time prior to Monday night’s shooting.

Investigators said no one else was injured in the incident.

Maggio was arrested Tuesday evening, June 6, following an interview with investigators at the Sheriff's Office Headquarters.

The motive remains under investigation.
