RABBITTOWN, Ga. — East Hall has hired South Gwinnett assistant coach Andrew Mocahbee to take over the Vikings baseball program, pending Hall County School Board approval.
Mocahbee had been the assistant coach of the Generals the past two seasons. He takes over for Zeb Lackey, who stepped down at the end of the 2023 season after three years at the helm.
“I’m excited to get started working with the program and bringing back the winning tradition to East Hall,” Mocahbee said.
Prior to his stint at South Gwinnett, Mocahbee worked as a graduate assistant coach at Middle Georgia State, where he focused on catchers and hitters. Mocahbee played four years of college baseball, finishing at Middle Georgia State and was a second team All-American catcher. He finished his playing career in the semi-pro Can Am League with both the New Jersey Jackals and the Ottawa Champions.
“East Hall is excited to have Coach Mocahbee join our coaching staff,” East Hall Athletic Director Adam Rich said. “He is a decorated player and has worked hard as an assistant in both the college and high school ranks. Coach Mocahbee is excited to begin building our program and put the work in to keep the program on the right trajectory."
