A Clarkesville woman was killed Wednesday evening in a single-vehicle wreck in Habersham County.
According to a press release from the Georgia State Patrol, Shelby Stonecypher, 33, was allegedly driving a Volvo XC 90 south on Historic Highway 441 at a high speed at about 7:45 p.m. when she lost control of the vehicle.
The car drove off the left side of the roadway and struck a large tree. The vehicle vaulted before striking a second tree. It came to a stop on its driver's side.
Stonecypher was allegedly not wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident.
She sustained serious injuries and died at the scene.
