LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. — On a day when four players posted 9-under par 62s, Gainesville’s Spencer Ralston still managed to stay within striking distance after the second round of the LECOM Suncoast Classic on Friday.
Ralston fired a 5-under 66 to make the cut with a two-day total 9-under and sits seven shots off the lead. Ralston is one of 13 players sitting at 9-under in a tie for 17th.
He had seven birdies and two bogeys and shot a 4-under 32 on the front-9. He was 3-under on the Par 5s but his two bogeys came on Par 3s.
Kevin Dougherty shot one of the 62s to finish at 16-under after the first two days. He leads a pair of golfers -- Patrick Cover and Logan McAllister -- by three strokes.
