A former University of Georgia football star is not revealing much about a January wreck that killed two people within the university's football program.

Jalen Carter was advised not to go into details during an interview on HBO Real Sports with Bryant Gumble Tuesday night.

The defensive tackle did say several prospective NFL teams have asked about the events of that night, but nothing too in-depth.

"Yes, a couple teams asked me about it, but they didn't go too in-depth about the accident; they just wanted to hear my side. That was it," Carter said during the interview.

Several national outlets projected Carter as the No. 1 pick in April's NFL Draft before the January 15th accident that claimed the lives of defensive lineman Devon Willock and university employee Chandler LeCroy. Since then, his draft stock has dropped. Some project him as the No. 5 pick; others say it could be worse. Carter worked out with the Atlanta Falcons last week. The Falcons have the No. 8 pick.

Carter told HBO that he felt the accident was the reason for his draft status decline.

"Yeah, I feel like it's going to matter a little bit because NFL teams look deep into your life. It could have been something I did back in elementary; I'm pretty sure they would know. So, this coming out at the time that it did come out, I'm pretty sure it's going to affect a little bit."

Carter was reportedly driving a vehicle alongside an SUV on January 15th that crashed just hours following the University of Georgia's celebration of their college football national championship.

Carter will be tuning in to the NFL draft next week, hoping to become a high pick.
