GAINESVILLE, Ga. — East Forsyth is now in the market for a boys basketball coach.
After two seasons at the helm, Scott Bracco announced his resignation as head coach of the Broncos. Bracco will take the same position at Sequoyah High in Cherokee County.
The school is also in the process of finding a new girls coach.
"Thank you to Mr. Cheney, Coach Hollis, the administrative team, and the parents for the tremendous support that you have given me over the past two years," Bracco said in a statement. "East Forsyth has been and will always be a special place to me. My goal has been to make a positive impact on the lives of my players and our program.”
Bracco was the program's first boys coach. In his first season, the Broncos finished 11-19 and made the first round of the Class 3A playoffs.
Last season, playing in Class 4A, the Broncos finished 10-16.
“East Forsyth Athletics would like to thank coach Bracco for getting our boys basketball program off to a great start," Hollis said. [We] wish him well in his future endeavors.”
Hollis said the search for a new boys basketball coach is underway.
"We look forward to the search to find the next boys basketball coach to build the program at East Forsyth High School," he said.
The East Forsyth boys join Lumpkin County girls and boys and Buford boys programs searching for a new coach in the area.
