Three key Region 7-3A series continue on Thursday with No. 2 Pickens, No. 7 Lumpkin County, and Dawson County all trying to keep pace atop the standings.
The three teams are tied for first place in the region and have created a major separation between the rest of the region. Pickens (14-3, 6-1 Region 7-3A) has won seven straight and travels to West Hall (3-11, 1-6Region 7-3A). Lumpkin County (13-2, 6-1 Region 7-3A) has won five straight and heads to Gilmer (6-8, 0-4 Region 7-3A), while Dawson County (10-5, 6-1 Region 7-3A), which also has won five in a row, hits the road against Wesleyan (4-6, 1-3 Region 7-3A).
White County (5-10, 1-5 Region 7-3A) is the odd-team out this week but is in action, playing host to Rabun County.
There is one lone Region 8-6A game on tap for Thursday as Gainesville (8-9, 2-5 Region 8-6A) plays host to North Forsyth (11-6, 6-0 Region 8-6A) looking to stay in the playoff race. The game was moved from last week due to weather.
And Region 8-4A North will have one hugely important matchup on Thursday as Chestatee (10-8, 3-2 Region 8-4A North) will try and salvage the final game of its series with East Forsyth (11-6, 4-1 Region 8-4A North) at the Lynn Cottrell Complex. The Broncos have moved into second place in the subregion but the War Eagles can pull back into a tie with a win on Thursday.
