Emergency personnel with the City of Cleveland and White County responded to a structure fire Tuesday in the areas of Old Caudell Road and Duncan Bridge Road, according to officials.

White County Fire Services, Cleveland Fire, and White County EMS were dispatched around 11:00 pm to a structure fire involving an unoccupied barn. Responders arrived at the scene and found the barn completely engulfed in flames.

“Within minutes, Captain 1 along with Station 2 personnel were on scene,” Public Information Officer Bryce Barett with White County Public Safety said in a release Wednesday.

Responders contained the blaze and prevented spread to nearby homes and wooded areas, Barrett said.

“After knockdown of flames was achieved, first responders remained on scene throughout the night combatting hotspots and ensuring the blaze would not reignite,” he said.

White County Community Emergency Response Team arrived to the scene with a Rehab Unit. The unit established a rehabilitation area to provide refreshments to fire personnel in recovery.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
