LOGANVILLE, Ga. — Eden Castrejon scored the East Hall boys' only goal to lead the Vikings past Walnut Grove 1-0 on the road Friday.

Miguel Dominguez dished the pass to Castrejon in the 24th-minute assist to give the Vikings (8-2, 4-1) the win.

The Vikings continued pressure in the second half, pinning the Warriors in their half for most of the second half.

Jonathan Torres, Yerli Mejia, and Ainor Romero-Turcios all forced the Walnut Grove keeper to make plays to keep the game close.

Wilber Bernal and Kenny Barrera combined for the 3rd straight shutout win in goal.

The Vikings travel to East Forsyth on Tuesday.

GAINESVILLE BOYS 4,
NORTH FORSYTH 2

Alejandro Lemus recorded a hat trick to lead the Class 6A eighth-ranked Red Elephants to a crucial Region 8-6A win at City Park Stadium.

The win kept Gainesville (9-2, 5-1 Region 8-6A) in second place in the region standings. North Forsyth (6-6, 4-3 Region 8-6A) could have moved into the second spot in the standings with a win.

Ozmar Marceleno would give Gainesville a 1-0 20 minutes in on a set play from Kevin Zuniga. Lemus pushed the lead to 2-0 in the 30th minute and scored again, off another Zuniga assit, with 20 seconds left in the half for a 3-0 lead at halftime.

The Raiders, however, did not go away netting a pair goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half to get within 3-2. But five minutes later Lemus completed his hat trick on an assist Antonio Turcios.

The Red Elephants defense was able to hold on over the final 25 minutes.

PINECREST ACADEMY BOYS 4,
LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 1

Pinecrest scored three goals in the second half to beat Lakeview on Friday.

The game was tied 1-1 at halftime.

David Haddad scored the lone goal for Lakeview.

The Lions had several chances to score but could not capitalize.

FLOWERY BRANCH GIRLS 3,
WINDER-BARROW 0

Sarah Greiner scored all three goals to lead the Flowery Branch girls past Winder-Barrow on the road Friday.

Greiner scored her first goal in the 14th minute and added the second on a penalty kick in the 25th minute. She landed the final goal in the 41st minute.

Flowery Branch (9-1, 2-1) will host Habersham Central on Tuesday.
