Another day on the diamond, which means another day of key important region contests for our Northeast Georgia-area teams.

Region 8-4A will continue their subregion crossover games while more teams in Region 8-6A will get their playoff quests started on Monday.

In Region 8-6A, Jackson County and Habersham Central opened things up with wins on Friday. The Raiders (9-5, 1-0 Region 8-6A) have a huge showdown at home with Gainesville (6-4, 0-0 Region 8-6A), which is playing its region opener. The Panthers (6-3, 1-0 Region 8-6A) will jump back into region play on Friday against the Red Elephants after a pair of games with county rival Jefferson.

North Forsyth (4-5, 0-0 Region 8-6A) had its opener with Lanier on Friday rained out and will open things instead on Monday at home against Apalachee (3-6, 0-1 Region 8-6A).

Region 8-4A dominates the schedule with Cherokee Bluff, Chestatee, East Forsyth, East Hall, and North Hall all at home on Monday in crossover action.

Flowery Branch will travel to Dacula in a non-region matchup.
