BOGART, Ga. — A 10-run sixth inning doomed Chestatee in an eventual 13-4 loss to No. 1 North Oconee on Saturday in Region 8-4A action.

The War Eagles (5-4, 1-1 Region 8-4A) trailed 2-0 after the first inning but tied the game in the second on a two-out, two-run single from Jake Hitchcock. They took the lead in the third with an unearned run and extended it to 4-2 in the fourth on a RBI single from Eli Chaffin.

But the Titans (6-1, 1-1 Region 8-4A) pulled within 4-3 with a run in the bottom of the fourth. It stayed that way until the big sixth inning.

Hitchcock started for Chestatee and went five innings allowing three runs on six hits and striking out four.  The bullpen, however, could not hold it. Brock Moody and Wesley Gossett were roughed up 10 runs on six hits in just one inning of work.

Dylan Thompson led Chestatee two hits. Jushua Bull, Colton Wilbanks, Hitchcock, and Nick McKoy all had one hit for the War Eagles.
