FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Cherokee Bluff offense continues to dominate its Region 8-4A opponents.
The Class 4A fourth-ranked Lady Bears rolled over Walnut Grove 10-0 on Friday to stay unbeaten in region play.
The win kept Bluff (-1, 3-0 Region 8-4A) in a second-place tie with Johnson and just one game behind first place North Oconee.
Kaitlin Cook recorded another hat trick while Amelia Dovie knocked in two goals and dished out 3 assists as well for Bluff. Carson DeMars had a brace, Alyssa Stringer had a goal and 3 assists, Eva Martin had a goal and an assist, Genesis Gamez netted one goal and Tyndall Brix had 1 assist for the Lady Bears.
It was another standout performance from the Bluff defense as well. The Lady Bears have allowed just one goal in region play and keeper Avery Fowler recorded her 6th shutout of the season.
LUMPKIN COUNTY-DAWSON COUNTY POSTPONED
The much-anticipated showdown between No. 1 Lumpkin County and No. 4 Dawson County girls on Friday at The Burial Grounds was postponed due to the rain that rolled through the area on Friday.
It was the scheduled Region 7-3A opener for both teams. No reschedule date has been determined for now.
