GAINESVILLE, Ga. — The North Hall tennis teams opened Region 8-4A play with a sweep of Chestatee on Wednesday.
The Lady Trojans dropped just four games in a 5-0 win while the Nortj Hall boys took a 4-1 win.
In the girls match in singles, Ella Kate Canaday beat Sara Everett 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1; Gabbie Jenkins beat Emma Peck 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2; and Lilly Perry defeated Garland 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3. In doubles, the No. 1 team of Riley Morgan and Maggie Perry beat Madison Bowell and Emily Senter 6-0, 6-1 and the No. 2 team of Ali Moore and Callie Clark defeated Daye Perez and Brooklyn Milburn 6-0, 6-1.
In the boys match, Jack Maddox defeated Jack Tucker 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and Griffin Keener beat Riley Tucker, who had to retire trailing 4-1 at No. 2.
Chestatee got its onlt win at No. 3 singles when Kevin Payne beat Jaycob Wagner 6-3, 6-2. In the doubles, Luis Delgado and Easton McNair defeated Bo Peek and Josh Kaufman 6-4, 4-6, 7-6(3) in a tremendous match at No. 1 while the No. 2 team of Brooks Doesey and Logan Adans beat Matthew Broosher and Elija Peters 6-0, 6-4.
Both North Hall teams will play in the Jekyll Jam tournament this weekend.
