A Braselton man was booked into the Hall County Jail Monday on charges related to an alleged domestic violence incident Friday afternoon in Braselton.
Derreck Booth, public information officer with the Hall County Sheriff's Office, said deputies responded Friday afternoon to a home in the 5000 block of Winder Highway.
The suspect, Robert Peter Yitts, 53, drove away from deputies as they arrived at the house. Deputies checked on the two victims, a 14-year-old girl and a 51-year-old woman, and did not pursue Yitts.
An initial investigation determined Yitts allegedly grabbed the 14-year-old's jaw and threw her to the floor. He also grabbed the older victim's head and slammed it into a table, then onto the floor, busting her lip. Yitts also allegedly threatened to kill both victims.
Yitts faces the following charges for the incident:
- Battery under the Family Violence Act (felony)
- First-degree cruelty to children (felony)
- Terroristic threats under the Family Violence Act (felony)
- Battery under the Family Violence Act (misdemeanor)
- Third-degree cruelty to children (misdemeanor)
Law enforcement in Gwinnett County arrested Yitts on the Hall County warrants. He was then transported Monday morning from the Gwinnett County Jail to the Hall County Jail.
