FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Flowery Branch opened up Region 8-5A play with a solid 4-2 win over Clarke Central on Friday at Falcons Field.
Sarah Greiner had another big offensive night with a hat trick and an assist. She scored twice in the first half, including in the second minute, to get things started. Baleigh Kirby netted a goal in the 48th minute and Greiner added her final goal in the 62nd minute.
Kate Hill had 7 saves in goal to get the win.
The Lady Falcons (5-0, 1-0 Region 8-5A) will take on West Hall on Tuesday at home in a Copa 985 match.
Clarke Central fell to 4-4 overall, 0-1 in region play.

In a battle of ranked teams in Copa 985 the Class 4A No. 8 Lady Bears pitched their second consecutive shutout over the Class 6A No. 10 Lady Raiders.
Keeper Avery Fowler was outstanding with 10 saves with Carson Demars and Ellie Sutulovich leading a strong defensive effort against a tough Habersham offense that had been averaging just under 8 goals/game in the early going.
Kaitlin Cook led offense scoring all 4 goals -- one on a penalty, two with her feet and another on a header. Genesis Gamez, Alyssa Stringer, and Amelia Dovie each had one assist for Bluff (5-1).
The four goals were the first scored on Habersham Central (3-1) this season.
